My overriding passion in life is for my animals, especially my horses and this has been reflected in my art as both inspiration and subject matter. I’ve always wanted to create and used to spend hours as a child drawing horses (of course!) This led to a formal art education and several years working as a graphic designer. Graphite pencil was my preferred medium and I’ve also worked extensively in pastel and watercolour, with a little dabble in acrylic. I’ve drifted in and out of my art career over the years, starting a pet portrait business in 2002 and joining the Society of Equestrian Artists with promotion to Associate a few years later, but it wasn’t until I discovered the potential of coloured pencil in 2015 that I found renewed motivation for my art.

I saw in coloured pencil the ability to properly get my ideas on paper and it was a very natural fit for me. I am now a member of the SEA, UKCPS, TWASI and AAA (and the CPCAU!) and have successfully exhibited with them all over the past few years. I offer commissions, with customers all over the world, and have been teaching coloured pencil in a workshop format for the last couple of years. These workshops have proven very popular and I have found sharing my discoveries immensely rewarding. My latest project is to produce a series of digital downloads and have been thrilled at the response to my first release. I continue to strive towards excellence as an artist, studying with other artists and exploring my creativity - just need a few more hours in the day to put my all ideas onto paper!
