Bio
I am an award-winning colored pencil artist, living in Minot, ND with my husband and studio cat/assistant, Clowie. I had dabbled in art since my childhood but was never able to seriously pursue an artistic career until I became chronically ill in January of 2015. The pain was extremely debilitating, and I needed to find something to distract me. Fortunately, I discovered colored pencils and quickly found that I was able to temporarily forget the pain while concentrating on the small details in my artwork. Working in this medium has given me the opportunity to focus on and grow in my art even though I was confined at home. Out of my pain, an art career was birthed! I have been fortunate to reach many of my artistic goals in 2019 and my solo exhibition at The Taube Museum of Art in just a few months will be a highlight of 2020! I’m so excited to see where my artistic journey will take me and look forward to continuing to share my love of colored pencils as I continue to explore new techniques, hone my skills, and follow my dreams.
