My Name is Susan Robjant and I am a 35-year-old mum of two. I live in the Latrobe Valley, Victoria Australia. I have always been drawn to art and have drawn and painted for as long as I can remember. I started to really focus on colour pencils as my medium of choice around 2010 after having my son. Joining a Facebook Community of colour pencil artists really fuelled my passion in drawing and I learnt so much from fellow artists and was motivated to improve my abilities and develop my own style. I Cherish the Australian bush and love to hike and Camp with my family and this is where I glean most of my inspiration from for one of my favourite subjects which is landscapes. I love rendering the natural array of colours and textures present in nature. I also love to draw some of the Gold mining relics that we find nestled in to the landscapes on our journeys, I enjoy the contrast of old manmade machinery combined with the natural scenery and hope to tell a story of times past. Animals and wildlife are other subjects I love to draw, capturing the beauty of wildlife of all sorts. I like to work from my own references when I can, I enjoy the process of taking the memory and the moment myself and creating my interpretation of what I have personally witnessed and seen. I find this process significant to me having a connection and more passion toward my pieces. Thank you for your time and consideration.
