Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, I studied art at University of Canterbury, Christchurch.  I graduated with a Diploma of Fine Arts (three year course) majoring in painting in 1980.  In 1982 my husband and I moved to Sydney, Australia.  We have three daughters.  Eventually we crossed the Great Divide and have lived in Fremantle, Western Australia since 1997.  In 1994 I began to use coloured pencils – as oil painting became too difficult with a new baby.  I discovered I loved coloured pencils so continued with them while I let oil painting go.  I hold solo exhibitions every two years over here in WA.  Travel is a huge part of my life.  Almost all of the drawings I do are sourced from photos taken on my travels.  My main inspirations come from Kyoto, Paris and most recently Venice.

Other Achievements:

An important part of my artistic career since 2013 is regularly posting on my blog.  I show my latest work as well as giving advice about art materials and my methods.  I enjoy photography and writing as much as drawing so there are plenty of all three forms of creativity on my blog.
