Bio
Professional artist Erwin P. Lewandowski maintains a studio/residence along the shoreline of Lake Huron in Northern Michigan, USA. He is a graduate of the Fine Art Department at Central Michigan University and received addition training at Eastern Michigan University. He is recognized nationally and internationally for his colored pencil, graphite, and pigment ink drawings of Waterscapes + Landscapes from across North America and beyond. All of his creative efforts can be found within the following areas of concentration: Contemporary Realism, Hyperrealism, and the Abstract in Realism. Using water and land settings as a base, he is able to create stunning images that focus on particular elements, structures, movements, and shapes in nature. Artist license is a big part of his planning and often involves taking two or more scenes and combining them to create an image that is unique in style, meticulously rendered in detail, and visually appealing in form, content, and composition. In recent years he has added the abstract in realism to his portfolio. This new area of interest has roots in realistic settings and scenery, but the final compositions adhere to characteristics and qualities long associated with abstraction.
